Snail Trail
Over the past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to spend over four months in Colorado, working as the Digital Fabrication Intern at Anderson Ranch Art Center.
While hiking in Colorado, I discovered leaf mining trails on leaves and was captivated by their unique, light-filled patterns. Inspired by their beauty, I set out to design a playful object that celebrates these organic, translucent trails.
I imagined this piece as a slipcasted form with the delicate fragility of a leaf. Inspired by a snail’s shape and the tiny holes of leaf mining trails, it’s designed to be an object that practically begs to be held, explored, and investigated just like the mined leaves
